Mousa Qorbani, a Majlis deputy from Qaenat, said on Sunday that independence and freedom are as important as Islam for the system.
Qorbani told IRNA that the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini, attached greater significance to Islam so as to safeguard the system from the enemies' harms, and highlighted the need to respect the concerns of the Imam in deciding the affairs of the country.
He also said the three principles of Islam, independence and Islamic Republic constitute the most important bases of the Constitution, stressing that many laws of the country have been drawn up by considering these very principles.
